Claude Monet (November 14, 1840 -December 5, 1926) was the founder of French impressionist painting, and the most consistent and prolific practitioner of the movement's philosophy of expressing one's perceptions before nature, especially as applied to plein-air landscape painting. The term Impressionism is derived from the title of his painting Impression Sunrise.

Édouard Manet (January 23, 1832 - April 30, 1883) was a French painter. One of the first nineteenth century artists to approach modern-life subjects, he was a pivotal figure in the transition from Realism to Impressionism. His early masterworks 'The Luncheon on the Grass' and 'Olympia' engendered great controversy, and served as rallying points for the young painters who would create Impressionism. Today these are considered watershed paintings that mark the genesis of modern art.

The images on the CD are in jpg format. The average image is approximately 2500 X 2700 pixels and 1.3 megabytes, some are smaller and some are larger, but this is an average. They have been extensively photo-edited to optimize color and contrast levels, hue and saturation and to bring out their brilliance and clarity. They can easily be printed out to a size 24" X 30" poster or print without distortion.

If you would rather not wait for postal delivery, you can receive these images in a download file. You can receive them as a compressed ZIP file in which you download the ZIP file and use WinZip on your computer to extract the files. If you do not have WinZip you can receive them as a self-extracting executable (EXE) file. In this case after you download the EXE file to your computer, just double-click on it and then extract the images to the folder of your choice. Whether you get them as a ZIP or EXE, they contain the exact same images as the CD's. If you request to receive them as a download file then we will send a download link otherwise they will be shipped in the mail.
