Edgar Degas was a french artist, acknowledged as the master of drawing the human figure in motion. Degas worked in many mediums, preferring pastel to all others. He is perhaps best known for his paintings, drawings, and bronzes of ballerinas and of race horses. The art of Degas reflects a concern for the psychology of movement and expression and the harmony of line and continuity of contour. These characteristics set Degas apart from the other impressionist painters, although he took part in all but one of the 8 impressionist exhibitions between 1874 and 1886. Degas was the son of a wealthy banker, and his aristocratic family background instilled into his early art a haughty yet sensitive quality of detachment.

The images on the CD are in jpg format. The average image is approximately 2600 X 2200 pixels and 1 megabyte, some are smaller and some are larger, but this is an average. They have been extensively photo-edited to optimize color and contrast levels, hue and saturation and to bring out their brilliance and clarity. They can easily be printed out to a size 24" X 30" poster or print without distortion.

If you would rather not wait for postal delivery, you can receive these images in a download file. You can receive them as a compressed ZIP file in which you download the ZIP file and use WinZip on your computer to extract the files. If you do not have WinZip you can receive them as a self-extracting executable (EXE) file. In this case after you download the EXE file to your computer, just double-click on it and then extract the images to the folder of your choice. Whether you get them as a ZIP or EXE, they contain the exact same images as the CD's. If you request to receive them as a download file then we will send a download link otherwise they will be shipped in the mail.
